Sport: Vanuatu, Fiji win gold at Hockey 5s

Vanuatu and Fiji have won gold in the Oceania Intercontinental Hockey 5s, with comprehensive victories over Samoa in the men's and women's grand finals in Sydney.

Vanuatu thrashed the Samoan men 11-1, with captain Hiro Namu bagging five goals, while Lora Bukalidi scored twice as Fiji ran out comfortable 5-1 winners.

Solomon Islands outclassed Tonga 6-1 in the men's bronze medal match, John Levo and Jason Ifua scoring two goals apiece.

The Solomons also claimed bronze in the women's competition, with Jeremy Ghailobo collecting five goals as the Melanesians beat the Kingdom 7-2.

Meanwhile, Australia won the Oceania Cup titles on home soil, beating the New Zealand men 6-0 and Black Sticks women 2-0 respectively, with Papua New Guinea a distant third in both competitions.
