Papua New Guinea have ended a disappointing tour of the United Arab Emirates by losing their final two Twenty20 Internationals in Abu Dhabi, as the hosts completed a series sweep.

The Barramundis made a stunning start to the second T20 International on Friday, with Norman Vanua dismissing Rohan Mustafa and Mohammad Naveed in the first over of the match.

But Shaiman Anwar smashed 117 not out from only 68 deliveries as the hosts recovered to post a mammoth 180 for 3 from their 20 overs.

Tony Ura and Lega Siaka got PNG's run chase off to a flier as they raced to 42 without loss after 3.3 overs before Ura was dismissed by Amjad Javed.

Jack Vare-Kevere (38 off 36 balls) and Sese Bau (30 off 22 balls) made valuable contributions in the middle order but the target proved too much as the Barramundis were dismissed for 150 off the final ball of the innings.

In the final match, Tony Ura and Lega Siaka made another strong start, putting on 54 runs for the first wicket but the visitors were restricted to 128 for 5 from their 20 overs.

Norman Vanua again picked up two wickets in the first over of the UAE innings before Chad Soper dismissed Shaiman Anwar to leave the hosts reeling at 6 for 3 after seven deliveries.

But a century stand from Muhammad Usman (58 off 49 balls) and Rameez Shahzad (47 off 47 balls) took the match away from the Barramundis, with the hosts reaching their target with five balls and five wickets to spare.

Papua New Guinea were also beaten 2-1 in the One Day International series and in the one-off Intercontinental Cup match.
