Papua New Guinea cricketers have suffered their third successive cricket loss to the United Arab Emirates.

Their latest defeat came in their first T20 International in Abu Dhabi.

After being sent in to bat PNG started badly, slumping to 23 for 4 when captain Assad Vala was dismissed in the eighth over.

Sese Bau and Mahuru Dai tried to resurrect the innings, scoring 53 between them, but the Barramundis were unable to recover and were eventually bowled out for a paltry 102 in the 19th over.

In reply, UAE eased to the total in the 16th over, losing only five wickets in the process.

John Boge and Willie Gavera picked up two wickets each for the Barramundis.

The loss comes after a 2-1 One Day series defeat and a 9 wicket Intercontinental Cup drubbing.

The next two T20 matches will be played back to back overnight.
