In the Northern Marianas, a Tropical Storm warning for Saipan and Tinian has been cancelled.

The Northern Marianas National Weather Service yesterday issued a Condition 3 warning about what appeared to be an approaching tropical storm bearing down on Saipan and Tinian.

The acting governor of the CNMI Victor Hocog cancelled the warning as Tropical Storm 10W moves away from the islands, no longer posing a threat.

But a tropical storm warning remains in effect for Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan islands as winds of more than 60 kilometres an hour or more are expected within 24 hours in the Northern Islands.
