Sport: NZ dominate Oceania Swimming Champs in Fiji

Pacific swimmers collected five more podium spots as New Zealand surged to the top of the medal count on day two of the Oceania Championships in Suva.

New Zealand won eight of 11 finals last night at the Damodar Aquatic Centre and have 12 golds in a total haul of 28 medals.

Papua New Guinea's Ryan Pini claimed his second silver medal of the week in the men's 50m backstroke, while Fiji's Ella Rasau won the women's B final.

Guam's Benji Schulte won the territory's first medal of the event with a second-placed finish in the men's 100m breaststroke final.

Samoa's Brandon Schuster claimed bronze in the men's 400m Individual Medley final.

Fiji and Samoa finished second and third in the mixed 200m medley relay, while New Caledonia claimed bronze in both the men's and women's 800m freestyle relay.

New Caledonia's Thibaut Mary won the men's 100 freestyle B final.
