Vanuatu's parliament has resolved to establish a Constitutional Review Committee as part of the government's efforts to pass major reforms.
The Daily Post reports the committee will comprise members of each political party in parliament, and representatives of the christian, women, youth, business, and disability communities, as well as trade unions.
It will also have representation from the National Council of Chiefs.
The committee is part of Prime Minister Charlot Salwai's promised effort to curb decades of political instability in Vanuatu, where a prime minister has not served a full term since 1995.
Its members will have until the 31st of August to consult the sectors they represent and present a report and recommendations to the Speaker of Parliament.
Meanwhile, the parliament also approved a US$11 million supplementary budget on Friday.
