Sport: Vanuatu cricketers outclassed by Jersey

Vanuatu suffered a heavy defeat against Jersey in their second match at the World Cricket League Division 5 tournament.

The Melanesians won the toss and put the hosts into bat.

Nat Watkins top scored with 65 as Jersey posted a challenging 200 for 9 from a reduced 37 overs.

Andrew Mansale was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 38 from seven overs.

In reply, Vanuatu were in trouble early, slumping to 12 for 2 inside four overs.

Josh Rasu top scored with 43 and captain Andrew Mansale added 22 as they put on 64 runs for the third wicket but their dismisally led to a quick collapse, with Vanuatu all out for 98 in the 31st over.

Vanuatu lost to Guernsey in their opening match at the weekend and begin their next match against Oman later tonight.
