Samoa's Prisons and Correctional Services has allowed inmates of three prisons to celebrate Easter with their families and friends.
The meeting has been held in the presence of a supreme court judge and two government ministers.
About 100 selected prisoners also took part in an activity held at Tafa'igata prison in which inmates performed a drama demonstrating the crufixion of Christ.
The assistant commissioner of Prisons and Correctional services, Sagaga Galu Frost, said such activities created some changes in the inmates' conduct.
