In the Northern Marianas a former firefighter has been jailed for 30 years for sex crimes.
Richard Sullivan Benavente was sentenced on a charge of sexual exploitation of a child.
The Chief Judge of the District Court, Ramona Manglona, says the hefty sentence will serve as a wake-up call to adults who prey on minors.
She says Benavente has a drug addiction, but also claimed to have a sex addiction.
