The United Nations Development Programme has organised an international expert mission to Papua New Guinea to discuss potential partnerships in the area of public service delivery.
The mission consists of representatives of UNDP's Global Centre for Public service Excellence.
During the visit, the experts met the PNG Institute of National Affairs, Coffey International, the New Zealand and Australian High Commissions, Parliamentary Speaker's Office, Secretary for Personnel Management, as well as senior civil servants and civil society representatives.
Participants also discussed key challenges in implementing public services.
One of the main issues was the need to break the silos of operation and work in more integrated ways to solve complex issues.
A key element emphasised by the visitors was the importance of national context.
They pointed out that there are 'no one size fits all solutions'.
