Samoa's Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, says there are several interim solutions being considered for those who have lost their businesses in the in the Savalalo Flea Market fire.
Around 300 small business operators who operated at the Savalalo Market are believed to be seeking help after the fire on Saturday destroyed their businesses.
In a government release, Tuilaepa says he has asked key government agencies to report back to him with updates on what caused the fire, a damage assessment, and recommendations on possible assistance for the future of all small business operators affected by the fire.

He says as an interim solution, the government is considering a possible relocation of the flea-market stalls and shops to the under-utilised Vaitele Market; or an option to set up large tents, which had been used when Samoa hosted the U.N S.I.D.S conference, to accommodate the vendors.
Tuilaepa says it's important ways to help these small businesses are found quickly, because they represent the livelihoods of many families, as well as an important service to support our tourism industry.
