The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for all of American Samoa on this Thanksgiving Day holiday after heavy rains overnight.
The warning remains until noon as an active surface trough over the islands will continue to produce heavy rainfall today.
The Weather Sevice Office recorded more than an inch of rainfall in one hour.
The active surface trough will remain nearly stationary in the next couple of days,
Residents in flood prone areas have been advised to move to higher ground while drivers are cautioned against crossing fast flowing or rising water.
