The Cook Islands rugby league coach Alex Chan says more test matches are needed to help grow the international game.
The Kukis missed out on a spot at the 2017 World Cup after losing a winner-takes-all qualifying match against Tonga earlier this month.
That was the Cook Islands first full international fixture for two years.

Alex Chan says he's spoken with a few other countries and is optimistic they won't have to wait so long for the next game.
"We just hope to keep consistent football going and it would be great to get the Pacific Cup going again where we're frequently tested. Like all nations we want to try and blood in as many as we can so that we have more than just a small amount of players to pick from - especially if we start losing players through injuries and so forth during the season - [so] come the end of the year we've still got a vast amount of players that we can select, that have got that calibre of football under their belt".
Alex Chan says with all the capital and resources in rugby league these days the likes of a Pacific Cup should be an achievable goal to help out second tier countries.
