Vanuatu's education sector has been allocated 7.3 million US dollars for reconstruction in the wake of Cyclone Pam.

The Ministry of Education says after waiting almost five months, it will now rebuild the 70 percent of school buildings that were damaged by the severe cyclone.
It says more than 34,500 school children in government and semi-government schools were affected by Pam.
The policy department's Roy Ben says each school needs to decide its priorities.
"All the development partners or funding agencies, they need to submit a project proposal for all their reconstruction activities that will be carried out in the schools, schools affected by Cyclone Pam."
Mr Ben says Australia, New Zealand, and the Asian Development Bank are contributing to the education rebuild.
Many schools have been carrying on with classes in make-shift classrooms, using tarpaulins and tents.
