Vanuatu has tiny version of Great Wall

A Vanuatu businessman, Hudson Tombo, in Torba Province, has built what he calls the 'Midget Great Wall of China.'

The wall climbs nearly 200 metres to the summit of a forest covered hill.

Mr Tombo who lives at the foot of the hill says he hired 18 young men who used hand tools to achieve the feat within 28 days.

He says he was inspired after being impressed by the Great Wall of China during a trip to China to study melon growing.

Mr Tombo is planning a restaurant, a bakery and other business activities at the summit, which overlooks Sola Bay.

He already has a sizable farm at the site which supplies vegetables to a nearby school.
