The amendment will divide constituencies with two seats.

Safata currently has two seats but the naming of the two separate constituencies under the new amendment has caused concerns.

The petition through a submission is calling for the proposed naming under Sa Tunumafono and Alataua to be changed to Togamau ma ona Tua and Si'ulepa ma ona Tua constituencies.

Samoa's Parliament this week will debate the electoral amendments.
