Cyclone Ola downgraded, poses no threat

Tropical cyclone Ola has been downgraded to a category 2, and is this morning about 570 kilometres southwest of New Caledonia's capital, Noumea.

It is moving south at 13 kilometres an hour, with sustained winds of about 93 kilometres an hour at its centre.

These winds are expected to have substantially reduced by tomorrow as it continues to move south, away from New Caledonia.
