Leaders in American Samoa will be meeting with new delegate to the US Congress Aumua Amata when she returns to the territory in two weeks to attend the opening of the 34th Legislature.
Aumua won last month's election for the territory's non-voting delegate in the Congress, defeating long-term Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin.
Governor Lolo Moliga says it's important that the territory's new delegate to Washington sit down with local leaders so she can be briefed on the issues which are of most importance to the territory.
Aumua, who will be sworn in to Congress on the 6th of January, is scheduled to arrive in American Samoa on January 9th.
The governor says his office is drawing up a list of the most pressing issues affecting the territory to be given to the new congresswoman so she can work on solutions in Congress and with the federal government.
