Fiji men's hockey coach Shaun Corrie is accentuating the positives going into this afternoon's Oceania Pacific Cup final against the New Zealand President's XI in Suva.

The home side is up against it, having been thrashed 8-2 when the two teams met in the round robin.

Fiji also sealed qualification for Round 2 of the Hockey World League on Thursday before a welcome day off.

The Fiji men finished runners-up in last years Oceania Pacific Cup and Shaun Corrie believes his team has what it takes to go one better.

"Yeah a much needed break. We will be playing in the sun so it's more comfortable for us, hopefully."

In the women's gold medal match, it's a trans-Tasman affair with the unbeaten New Zealand President's XI against Australia Country.

The Fiji women's team will play-off for third place against Papua New Guinea in the first match of the day followed by PNG taking on Australia Country in the men's bronze medal match.
