The Nadi weather office says a trough of low pressure remains slow moving just to the northeast of Fiji.

The Acting Director for the Fiji Met Service, Amiasi Tuidraki, says occasional showers will affect the eastern half of Vanua Levu, Northern Lau group, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.

"Some strong winds are still persisiting. On the land it's ok, but locally here, the marinas, the small boats, just to take care of moderate to rough swells that are existing."

The department of information says high water levels still exist throughout all divisions and the public is advised to stay away from flood waters and take extreme caution when travelling.
