PNG Opposition want Budget re-submitted

3:30 pm on 25 November 2014

Papua New Guinea's opposition continues to maintain that the government's budget announced last week was improper and incomplete.

Opposition leader Belden Namah says the budget presented by Treasurer Patrick Pruaitch borders on fraudulent misrepresentation by the government.

The Post Courier reports Mr Namah claiming to have picked up a number of discrepancies in the budget, and calling for it to be redone and presented to parliament again.

Mr Namah last week refused to allow the budget to be passed because parts of the 2015 budget document had not been presented to MPs.

Debate on the budget is scheduled to resume today.
