The Northern Marianas lone tertiary institution, the Northern Marianas College, has decided to delay a 35-percent tuition fee hike.

Instead of bringing in the increase this school year as planned, rates will go up in the spring semester next year.
The college last raised tuition fees in 2005.
A 57-percent increase in general fees has also been postponed.
College administrators had requested the increase after finding average salaries for staff were way below those working in similar institutions.
