Reports from Fiji say 3000 workers from Fiji will be offered job opportunities in New Zealand under the Seasonal Workers Scheme from next year.

Fiji Broadcasting reports the Fiji government has confirmed that arrangements have been finalised with Wellington and a pilot group of 30 workers will leave the country in the first quarter of 2015.

A Fiji government official told the broadcaster the target is to increase numbers to one-thousand by June.

FBC reports an agreement for Australia's expanded seasonal workers program is expected to be finalised by the end of the year.
