The American Samoa Handball Association, (ASHA), has been given full International Handball Federation member status during a meeting in Guam.
Association president Carl Floor Senior says that he was attending the Oceania Continent Handball Federation meeting as an observer and was surprised and happy to learn that the territory was given full membership status.
Floor was also elected Treasurer of Oceania Continent Handball Federation.
The ASHA is only one-year old.
Floor says he sees huge things for handball and says he knows that his participation on the executive committee will assist in the growth of handball throughout Oceania.
