Relatives of killed Chinese farmers arrive on Saipan

3:52 pm on 10 November 2014

The wives and children of two slain farmers in the Northern Marianas have arrived on Saipan from China.

The bodies of Hai Ren Li and Cheng Yu Li were found at the old airport runway in Koblerville about a week ago.

Family members and friends of the victims are urging the authorities to investigate the deaths, and question six Saipan residents who are allegedly involved in extortion activities.

A family member, who requested not to be identified, says they are planning to have the bodies cremated before returning them to China.

It is the third double homicide involving Chinese nationals on Saipan in less than two years.
