Two officers were inside the station at the time of the shooting and one was nearly struck by a bullet.

Mr Haleck has called the shooting a cowardly act on those who are in public service, who have sworn to serve and protect the community .

"People of American Samoa should be highly disturbed and offended by this cowardly attack. This is an unprecedented act that has never happened in American Samoa."
