Protestors have rallied in Papua New Guinea's capital Port Moresby against a highway connecting the Highlands to the capital.

The rally on Saturday at Five Mile was led by the Papuan separatist and a former parliamentarian Dame Josephine Abaijah.

Reports from PNG say people from the southern provinces are concerned at the negative impacts of the highway and a petition against the plan will be presented to the Prime Minister Peter O'Neill.
