Austria and the Czech Republic are to provide loans for the redevelopment of Goroka Provincial Hospital in Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands.

The redevelopment includes the construction of a new diagnostic and surgical centre.
The Post Courier reports the Prime Minister Peter O'Neill saying the National Executive Council has given approval for an Austrian company Vamed Group to undertake the redevelopment.
He said the redevelopment falls in line with the 2011-2020 national health plan to improve service delivery.
