Samoa's Rugby sevens coach Fuimaono Dickie Tafua says he is proud of his young players despite a loss to Fiji in the final of the Gold Coast Sevens over the weekend.
Samoa lost to Fiji 31-24 after coming back from an early 26 point deficit.
Fuimaono says his players showed plenty of heart and will now be better for the experience.
"We have a mixture of some new players and old players. It's a good opportunity for our younger players to play together with the experienced players. We had a chance in the last couple of minutes but the call from the referee might cost us."
England bagged third place in the tournament after defeating South Africa and defending champions New Zealand.
