There is a call for partnerships to help the region turn to solar, wind and hydro energy as a way to cut back on its heavy reliance on diesel fuel.

94 renewable energy partnerships have been registered at the SIDS conference this week.
They include the Aloha Plus challenge, which aims to make Hawaii have 70 percent clean energy by 2030.
This morning's panelists include the head of the European Union Delegation to the Pacific, Andrew Jacobs, and the head of the International Renewable Energy Agency, Adnan Amin.
Dr Amin says unlike previous SIDS conferences, this year's will not only focus on broad political expressions of the importance of renewables, but will deliver concrete partnerships that will result in real change.
