Solomon Islands government has decided to re-open its Geneva Mission in Switzerland after it closed it down earlier this year.

The Geneva Mission had been opened to deal with issues concerning the World Trade Organisation.

The prime minister Gordon Darcy Lilo decided to close the mission as a cost cutting measure but decided to keep the embassy in Brussels to look after both the country's trade and diplomatic interests in the European Union.

The finance minister, Rick Hou, has now revealed in parliament that that the Geneva office will reopen based on supplementary spending.

It is not immediately known when the mission will re-open.
