Fiji Airways predicts further growth and gains

7:31 pm on 26 August 2014

Fiji's national airline says it's hoping to make more savings and record further strong financial gains in the next few years.

The CEO of Fiji Airways, Stefan Pichler, says the airline's results for the first half of 2014 far exceed the budget, and the company is well ahead of its plans.

He says a five-year master plan was approved by the board last year, allowing for a company restructure that made major savings, and at the same time it increased revenue through changing its network.

Mr Pichler says he hopes the extra cash flow will fund further growth.

"So now we have gained some momentum which we try to keep, so currently we are five years ahead of our plans and now we keep on running, running, running, and hope to have a very good financial year in 2014 and then an even better one in 2015."
