Fiji's bronze medal winning sevens team have arrived home from the Youth Olympics, with stand-in coach Sale Sorovaki saying a number of the players have a bright future.

Fiji beat Kenya in the third place playoff on Wednesday in Nanjing, China, to win the Pacific's first ever Youth Olympics medal.

Sale Sorovaki, who guided the team in the absence of regular coach Ben Ryan, says 10 of their players had never even left Fiji before travelling to China.

"This is their first ever trip out of Fiji. Having trained in Fiji and then having a look at them I'm sure that some of these boys later on probably be in the Fijian sevens team along the coming years, but you know that's a decision for our sevens head coach to make and I hope that this has opened up their eyes on what is out there."
