New Zealand have continued their impressive start to the Oceania Futsal Invitational, thumping Vanuatu 5-1 in Wednesday night's top of the table clash in Paita, New Caledonia.

The Futsal Whites led 2-0 at halftime and while Vanuatu struck first in the second spell their revival didn't last long, as 30 seconds later a hand ball in their area saw the referee award a penalty for New Zealand, that was duly converted before a further two strikes added further gloss to the scoreline.

In the earlier game, Tahiti bounced back from a first up defeat to edge New Caledonia 2-1 on their own turf, with all goals coming in the opening half.
