Fiji's Court of Appeal has dismissed the Labour Party leader, Mahendra Chuadhry's appeal for a stay of his sentence.

However, Fiji Live reports that Justice William Calanchini has granted an urgent hearing on the legal appeal of conviction, which bans him from campaigning in this year's general election.
