The Northern Marianas lone tertiary institution has been granted a six-year accreditation by the senior commission of the Western Association for Schools and Colleges.
The new accreditation allows the Northern Marianas College to offer more four-year degree programs.
Right now, its only four-year degree programme is a bachelor's degree in education.
The six-year accreditation requires the college to submit only one interim report, which will address four areas that the college is committed to build on - faculty roles and development, research and data-supported decisions, assessment of learning, and student success.
