Fiji's Labour palmed off by Electoral Commission

4:19 pm on 26 June 2014

Fiji's Labour Party says it has been told to contact the solicitor-general over its request that symbols be included on the ballot papers for the September the 17th election.

Fiji Live reports the party leader Mahendra Chaudhry saying the Electoral Commission had responded to its request by saying that it is not the commission's decision to make and the party would need to approach the solicitor general's office.

Mr Chaudhry says it appears the commission is dodging issues raised by the political parties.
