Papua New Guinea's health minister says the country's mental health system is in need of a complete overhaul, saying it has been severely underfunded in past budgets.
EMTV reports Michael Malabag saying the Peter O'Neill Government is looking at ways to improve mental health care in a country with a population of 7 million and only 6 trained specialists.
Mr Malabag was in PNG's second city, Lae, for the start of construction of a new psychiatric hospital.
