Sport: Suspensions force changes in PNG Hunters line-up

The coach of the Papua New Guinea Hunters rugby league side has been forced to re-shuffle his team for this Saturday's Queensland Cup game following the suspension of two players.

Michael Marum had initially named prop Timothy Lomai and Dioni Aiye for this weekend's match against the Redcliffe Dolphins.

The pair were placed on report and subsequently cited for lifting in a tackle on a Souths Logan Magpies player in last week's 42-12 victory in Kokopo.

The PNG Rugby League CEO Brad Tassell says the coaching staff had viewed the incident and based on the video evidence decided to accept the early guilty plea of both players.

Aiye because of carry over points from a charge earlier in the season will miss two matches while Lomai escapes with a one-match suspension.
