Police in Vanuatu say the two prisoners who have been on the run since last week are now back behind bars.
Last week seven high risk inmates escaped from the country's maximum correctional facility in Port Vila but five surrendered earlier in the week.
Police then launched a full scale armed operation made up of members of the Vanuatu paramilitary force and police to hunt for the last two prisoners.
Our correspondent says the two surrended themselves to their chiefs who then led them back to their cells.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, John Taleo, has denied allegations of mistreatment of the inmates by their wardens or police saying, all officers have going through human rights training to care for prisoners.
