The new owners of the Tinian Dynasty and Casino in the Northern Marianas are disappointed at the lukewarm response from residents and government officials to their US$600 million investment on the island.

Mega Stars Overseas' chief executive, Cario Hon, says the investment group is not getting as much support from the local community as they had hoped for.

He says they have already spent $40 million to keep the struggling casino hotel afloat and are about to invest hundreds of millions more not only to rehabilitate the Tinian Dynasty but to build a new resort on the island's Kastiyu Plateau.

The Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission last week gave Mega Stars up to five business days to resubmit its application for a licence to own and operate Tinian Dynasty.

The commission had withdrawn the original application saying forms had not been filled in properly.
