Papua New Guinea women's cricket team are preparing for a bumper year in 2015 and are hoping the scheduling gods can do them a favour.
The Lewas beat defending champions Japan in the final of the East Asia Pacific Women's Trophy last week to earn a spot at next year's Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier.
The dates for that tournament are yet to be confirmed and with Port Moresby hosting the Pacific Games in July next year, PNG coach Kune Amini is hoping everything works out.
"We're not sure whether the qualifier is before the Pacific Games or after. If it's after the Pacific Games then it helps us a bit because we're able to play a bit more games before we go for the qualifying. If it's before then we will have to see if we're able to get some games abroad just to prepare ourselves for the qualifying."
