Vanuatu taxi drivers take courtesy lessons

9:17 am on 13 May 2014

In the Vanuatu capital, Port Vila, taxi drivers are receiving training to improve courtesy towards visitors.

The first 100 taxi drivers have started registration under the Vanuatu Taxi Ambassador Programme.

The ambassadors aim to help visitors the moment they step out of their plane or onto the wharf.

The ambassadors will be uniformed and their taxis will carry labels to advise tourists.

The training is expected to be extended to taxi drivers in Luganville in Santo and other provinces in the future.
