Samisoni Viriviri has been named the 2014 IRB Sevens Player of the Year, becoming the first Fijian to win the award.
He finished the season with 52 tries and beat fellow nominees Kyle Brown of South Africa, Tim Mikkelson from New Zealand and England's Tom Mitchell for the award.
The Fiji team had to settle for a fourth placed finish in London however, with hosts England prevailing in the third place playoff.
New Zealand, who beat Fiji 12-10 in the semi finals, capped off their 12th world series title by coming from 21-0 down to thrash Australia 52-33 in the Cup final.
Meanwhile Samoa were beaten by South Africa in the plate semi finals and finished the season in eighth place overall.
