The Fiji Pearls recorded a dramatic 60-59 come from behind extra time win over Northern Ireland in Suva last night, winning the Digicel Tri Series netball Championship in the process.

Northern Ireland started brilliantly in the first quarter and in the second spell were leading by 12 goals at one stage.

The visitors forced 10 turnovers in the second quarter and converted them into points as they led by 31-21 at half time.

But Fiji launched a comeback and were leading by three goals in the last five minutes of the final quarter before Ireland responded and tied the game 51-all at full time.

The Fiji Pearls Vice-Captain Vaiti Waqatabu picked up the MVP and was named the player of the tournament.

In the day's other match, the Papua New Guinea Pepes defeated Tonga 67-29.
