Fiji's People's Democratic Party says the Electoral Commission must not remain silent over regime leaders holding posts in the Fiji First party.
The prime minister Rear Admiral Frank Bainimarama has applied to register the party which he leads and which has as its Secretary General the Minister of Elections and Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
The leader of the PDP, Felix Anthony, says the international community should understand the run up to elections is not proving to be free and fair.
He says the regime leader has also been allowed to advertise his party before being registered while the PDP was promptly pulled up by authorities before its conference at the weekend.
"The banners that we had hung in Lautoka city to say that the conference was going to be held in the city with date and time were removed by the Supervisor of Elections, saying that that was campaigning so you see we have double standards being practiced already."
Mr Anthony says he will take up with the Commission its stance on regime leaders.
