American Samoa's Manu'a faced with morgue problem

2:50 pm on 7 May 2014

There is concern in American Samoa over problems with the morgue at Ta'u island in the Manu'a island group.

The morgue freezer at the Ta'u health center is down and a dead body had to be transported to the hospital on the main island of Tutuila over the weekend.

There is no word as to when the problem will be fixed.

With the government passenger ferry down and no commercial air service, Samoa News reports that a marine patrol boat from the Department of Public Safety was used to transport the dead body to Tutuila.
