The Fiji Pearls kicked off a new era in winning fashion, beating the Papua New Guinea Pepes 67-41 in the opening match of the Tri Series Plus One netball tournament in Suva on Tuesday.
The match was coach Julie Hoornweg's first in charge since being appointed for a second stint in charge of the Pearls last month.
The Fiji A team were also in the winners circle, beating Tonga 46-32 in the curtain-raiser.
The Tri Series, which also features Northern Ireland, is being used as preparation for next month's Pacific Series and World Championships qualifiers.
