Two years after attending their first ever ICC event the Cook Islands women's cricket team have set some loftier goals for next week's East Asia Pacific Women's Trophy.
Women's cricket has flourished since being introduced to the Cook Islands nearly four years ago, with close to 500 junior and senior players now active from a total population of 8000 women across 13 islands.
CEO and coach Alister Stevic says when the team competed in the last EAP tournament in Vanuatu in 2012, just being there was enough.
But he says their expectations are much bigger this time around.
"The first bridge is obviously to knock off that first ever win for a women's Cook islands national team and I think that's going to be a very historic and special occasion and I know that's driving a lot of the girls. They understand - a lot of the ladies in our team - that they could be the first team to pick up a win".
Also competing at the T20 tournament are hosts and defending champions Japan, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and Samoa.
