Sport: Amicale FC to attack from outset

10:56 am on 1 May 2014

Amicale football coach Nathan Hall says his side will go on the attack in Saturday's Oceania Champions League semi final second leg against Ba in Port Vila.

The Vanuatu club were 2-1 winners away from home in last weekend's opening leg in Fiji.

Nathan Hall accepts his side have a slight advantage courtesy of those two away goals but says the Fijian champions have plenty of pace and penetration up front and will have nothing to lose.

Despite a draw being enough to advance to the grand final Nathan Hall says Amicale have no plans to shut up shop.

"I think an early goal could possibly blow this tie right open. In saying that an early goal for them could do the same thing [and] give them a lot of confidence and belief that they can come back into this game. We will attack - that's the only way that we know. Yes we're in front of our home fans and we don't want to disappoint them so we want to, from minute one, put on a good show this weekend and score a few goals."

Defending O-League champions Auckland City will take a 3-0 advantage into Saturday's other semi-final second leg, away to Tahiti's AS Pirae.
